What is my japanese name?
For many things in Japan you are required to write (& know) your name in Katakana
Katakana is one of the Japanese alphabets. At websites you will often find a field for your name in English and then a field for your name Katakana. When a website ask you to enter your name in Katakana it looks like this:
- for your last name: 姓(カナ)
- for your first/given name: 名(カナ)

How to translate your name!
The easiest is probably to use a name converter like Nolan Lawson. Just enter your name there and then copy it to the website.
It gets a bit more tricky if you are also required to enter your name in Hiragana (the other Japanese alphabet). I would recommend to use RomanjiDesu. Many names cannot be translated easily into Hiragana. Therefore I would first translate it to Katakana and then use the phonetic spelling to go from there to Hiragana.
